“Christ, The Once For All Sacrifice!”

“Christ, The Once For All Sacrifice !”(Heb.9:23-28).
Imagine that your leg is paining. To find relief you are asked to go and sit near a stream where you occasionally dip the leg into the stream. What happens is that you constantly dip the leg into the same stream but not the same water.
That’s the way the forgiveness of sins functioned in the old covenant. In the old covenant the high priest entered “the Most Holy Place every year with” different “blood that was not his own,” and belonged to different animals.
Now, imagine that while you are still sitting by that stream the source of the stream dries up. When you dip you leg for the last time into the last water from the source, your leg would be healed permanently or the pain would remain.
It is in the same way that “Christ has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.”
There are somethings in life that have once and for all occurrence! You were born once and you will die once! There is nothing anyone can do about such facts.
“People are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so too Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.” Those who are waiting for him is a figurative expression for those who have accepted Christ, call on his name, believe and obey him.
Salvation will be available for all, but its beneficiaries are those who are waiting for him. Therefore, since we do not know when he will come again, let us engage ourselves in the things that qualifies our readiness to receive him.
Prayer: Holy Spirit guide my path on the route of readiness for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
