“Be Joyful; Christ Has Become A Servant For Your Sake!”
Africans know better not to blame the Jews if in their religion they considered Gentiles as “not belonging.” It is the same in African religions. The religion is either a family or tribal affair. Yet there is a place for outsiders. Each time a ritual meal is being eaten, if a stranger pops in it would be acknowledged that the gods are happy.
In the same way through Jesus Christ the God of the Jews has become the Lord of all nations. Jesus cancelled the religion of “exclusion” for a religion of “inclusion.”
The God of our salvation is the same God of our creation. Whoever calls the name of the Lord, whoever believes in Jesus Christ as the Son of God will be saved! Christ made himself a servant on behalf of God’s truth and to confirm the promises God made of old. This has given us opportunity to “praise the Lord…and sing praises” to him together with all other peoples.
Yes friend, Christmas is that “Christ is the reason for the season!” He comes to fulfil our hopes and in other cases to keep the flame of hope alive. Trust in the Lord and overflow with hope…(Rom.15:8-13).
Above all, Christmas comes with the lesson that for our joy to be fully expressed, the strong should bear with the failings of the weak. It teaches that if we have to bring our collective praise to God, we should accept one another just as Christ has accepted us!
Prayer: God of hope fill me with all joy and peace as I trust in you. Let me overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
