“Be Determined To Fulfil Your Destiny In The Will Of God!”
A song of destiny which many love to sing is, “I will become what God said I will become…” It is also said, “let my enemies live long and see what I will become in future.” When we sing or use this idiom we are only considering our destiny as tied to our future earthly success or triumph.
It is truly good to be determined in fulfilling one’s destiny, not only in relation to our comfort, but to our discomfort as well – as long as it is in the will of God.
Jesus remains our example. When the time was near for his departure from this world, he was bent on going to where that action was to take place: “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will turn him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!”(Mt.20:17-19). This wass not the first time Jesus predicted his death (see Mt. 16:21 & 17:23).
When Jesus talked about his death for the first time, Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, but Jesus told Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me…” (Mt.16:22-23).
What will be will be must not relate only to material or physical wellbeing; it should mean whatever it be as the Lord had decreed!
My friend, two days from now we are entering another forty days journey in the season of Lent. Before we engage on this journey maybe you should evaluate yourself to see how much of relevance the Lent journey was to you last year.
Be reminded that life is not only about receiving honour and praise from men. These things usually come after the pain and shame.
Within the close circle of Jesus was the betrayer. Those to whom he was betrayed were the religious authorities who condemned him to death. They did not even kill him within the ambits of their religious custom; they turned him over to foreigners “to be mocked and flogged and crucified!” But for Jesus, crucifixion was not a fatality. He told them, “On the third day he will be raised to life!”
Oh yes, it is not always as ugly as it seems! Beyond the pain is the gain!
Holy Spirit guide me in my effort to fulfil my destiny in the will of God through Christ Jesus. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working week! Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
