“Copy The Example Of The Core Content Of Christmas!”
The Bible has provided answers to all spheres of learning and it is foolish of Christians to turn to secular understanding for any new experience.
Take “Strategic Planning” as an example that is being borrowed from the secular domain into the worldwide Church, it shouldn’t be something new and strange to the Church of God. Strategic planning is what God has used from the beginning of time. The birth of Jesus was part of a strategic plan put in place many centuries in the past.
In his letter to Titus Paul reminds us that the Christmas gift of Jesus was the realisation of God’s strategic plan which has an elastic timeframe.
He writes: “But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life”(Ti 3:4-7).
In God’s strategic plan we are not saved by righteous deeds but by his mercy as he demonstrates his kindness and love to save us from sin.
Through Jesus Christ God has washed us and renewed us through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has been poured out on us unconditionally.
We are justified by grace alone and now we are heirs with the hope of eternal life. Grace is that moment when God converts threats into opportunities!
Dear friend, when we said God’s strategic plan is elastic it is not to say there is no definite timeframe. Timeframe is eternal life; that moment when elasticity stretches to its limit.
We are blessed to be part of God’s demonstration of grace, love and mercy. Let us learn from this the importance of demonstrating love and grace and being merciful to those who have wronged us! This alone is the Christmas spirit! Let us rejoice and be glad with a shout out for Christmas! Merry Christmas!
Christmas Eve prayer: Dear God thank you for showing mercy on me through the outpouring of your grace and love in the birth of your Son Jesus the Christ. Amen!
Have a blessed day and joyous Christmas Eve! Peace be with you!
