“Learn To Forgive Others From Your Heart!”
A world characterised by hate generates hurts and drives people to vengeance. Jesus tells us that it is the lack of the will to forgive that creates the spiral of retaliation. To say one has to forgive the brother seventy-seven times is in other words to say that you should ignore the wrongs at all times; because it is not possible that one can keep sinning against you for that number of times!
Vengeance is of God and no matter how so often we wrong and hurt him, he still forgives us. But how painful it is when he sees us being vengeful of the little hurts others cause us!
Most times we are like the servant who was owing his master a large sum of money. When the master asked him to pay he pleaded for time and the master cancelled the debts. But when this servant saw his fellow servant who was owing him a little money, he insisted on being paid. He refused the man’s plea for patience and put the man in jail.
This raised the anger of the master who asked him, “I cancelled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow-servant just as I had on you? In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.” Jesus ended by stating, “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart”(Mtt.18:21-35).
My friend, no matter the hurt, learn to forgive from your heart so that God does not change his mind for having cancelled your sins! When we ask for God’s mercy that same prayer teaches us to be merciful to others!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ through your blood the Father has forgiven me all my sins. Let me learn to forgive others from my heart. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
