Live In Wedlock Or Singlehood That Is Desirable To The Lord!”
I learned something interesting about the “Dua” of the Aghems of Cameroon. It is an initiation right for men which makes a man a full man. Interestingly while returning from the initiation your wife comes with all joy to embrace you. When a woman refuses to go embrace the husband it means she had cheated on him.
The president of the women in the year of my research told me they have instilled the need for faithfulness in marriage because it was your decision to marry the man. If as a woman you no longer want him, then leave him rather than cheat on him and bring disgrace to women.
Most marital unfaithfulness is because for one reason or the other one spouse fails to fulfil the conjugal rights. Paul advises that it must not be so!
On the other hand those who decide not to marry have made a good decision, but where immorality is rampant it is important that “each man should have his own wife, and each wife her own husband…” An unmarried widow and those who choose to remain single is good. “But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion…”
Now a command from the Lord: “A wife must not seperate from her husband, but if she does she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife”(I Cor.7:1-11).
Dear friend, this may be a difficult nut for you to crack, but it is the word of God and we must work towards its fulfilment to remain holy in the presence of the Lord.
Prayer of the week. Thank you Lord for a new day and working week. Holy Spirit give us the strength to live lives that are acceptable to the Lord. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
