“God Will Make A Way…!”(Is.62:6-12).
The Messiah came once according to the promise of the LORD. At the rapture, he will come again as a judge to give a verdict. The Messiah is not coming and going for five times plus!
My brother, of blessed memory, conceiver of the defunct West Cameroon Mordern Jazz Orchestra, Dr Moses Fokong told me this: “In every generation, God sends a prophet to each people. They listen and obey that prophet to their own good, and they reject him at their peril.”
Prophets don’t last forever. Prophets come in different shades. Moses Fokong was one of them.
Worthy of note is that the Bible contains palace prophets whose prophecies were meant to please the ears of the kings. Palace Prophets sail upwind. Meanwhile, prophetic prophets sail against the wind.
Sailing upwind is to flow with the tide; it is to please the king and his cohorts – even when they are wrong!
God has placed his messengers (watchmen) over the city to keep watch day and night and never to be silent and to worry God until he gives us the right answers.
This is not to say – as some are wont to believe – that the sole responsibility of the watchmen is prayer. Prayer without acting for God is meaningless. We pray as if work does not matter, and we work as if prayer is not relevant.
As a people, God has not abandoned us. He is concerned about us; but he is worried about our obstinacy to change. How can we continue to do the same thing over and over, yet expect different results? And that is what we have done repeatedly!
Despite our present predicaments, the LORD has promised us his salvation. Christ is our promised salvation. But while you wait for him with anticipated joy, know this: “His reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him.”
What is going to be your reward?
My friend, the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, and his mercy never comes to an end. Even so, do the works that merit his grace.
Prayer: Dear LORD, answer us if you want us to give you rest. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
Rev Babila Fochang.
