Text: II Th. 3:1-5.
“As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith. But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.”
Theme: Some Prayer Points For Intercession!”
Worship services in many denominations end with intercessory prayers or prayers of intercession. We do not have to be selfish and limited with our prayers.
The prayer topics that Paul requested from the Thessalonian Christians are expected of us today as well.
- Pray for the messengers of the gospel.
- Pray for the rapid spread of the gospel; which means praying for numerical growth and acceptance.
- Strength in numbers is not enough. Spiritual growth means honouring the message.
- Lastly, there is a need to pray that messengers should be delivered from wicked and evil people. These are faithless people who would want to thwart the spread of the word of God.
Prayer is reciprocal. Paul prays for the Thessalonians that the Lord who is faithful will strengthen and protect them from the evil one.
My friend, as you step out, take this👇🏿 as a prayer for you and us here and now: “The Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” He will “direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.” Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
