“Examine Yourself…Test Yourself!”

“Examine Yourself…Test Yourself!”(II Cor.13:3-6).
It is Sixteen Days and counting in Lent 2023. Welcome!
Self-examination is a booster to faith. To know if you are in the faith is not what people see in you or say about you. It is not also about what you do as an outward display of your faith.
It is about who and what you know you are in Christ.
Somebody has suggested “Three Guidlines for Self-Examination:
1. Be intentional. Try to set aside a specific time to examine your own life. Fine a place where you can be alone…
2. Be specific. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see what is going on in your life…
3. Be a believer. Bring what God shows you to him in confession as a believer.”
Dear friend, the Christian community drowns in subtefuge and camouflage, and we are all part of the charade. Everyday we are concentrating in removing the speck in our neighbour’s eye, yet making no effort to remove the log in our own eyes.
We engage in sinful activities as a normal way of life, and say to ourselves that Christ is weak and those who teach in his name are weak too.
Of course, “he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God’s power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God’s power we will live with him to serve you.
The bottom line is this: “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realise that Christ Jesus is in you – unless, of course, you fail the test. And I hope you will discover that we have not failed the test.”
Yes, be intentionally introspective to know what and who you are in the Lord Jesus Christ!
As for me, I may not have fully passed the test like Paul, but my goal is to keep on improving upon myself until I become fully approved by the Lord Jesus Christ.
