“Obey The Call Of Wisdom!”(Prov.1:20-28).
The Book of Proverbs is one of the three or five books known as “Wisdom Literature.” The others are Job and Ecclesiastes; while others add Psalms and Song of Songs.
Proverbs was written as it is stated, “to give prudence to the simple, knowledge and discreation to the young.” It is also to make the wise even wiser.
It is on the basis that God is the epitome of wisdom that Proverbs is considered in the Canon of the Holy Scriptures.
Our text for reflection today opens with the words, “Wisdom calls aloud…” Paul opens us up to the knowledge that Christ is our Wisdom. Therefore, when Wisdom calls out in Proverbs, we know that Christ is the one calling.
When we listen to the Voice of Wisdom as he calls out to us, we would not be led into folly. But when we fail to accept the rebuke of the Lord, he will laugh at our dissaster.
Let us choose knowledge and the fear of the LORD because his foolishness is wiser than man’s wisdom.
Prayer: LORD give me the humility to accept your word so that I can gain a heart of wisdom. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
Rev Babila Fochang.
