“Be Like-minded Like Christ!”(Phi.2:1-5).
A common question often posed these days is,“How did we get here?” Let us consider the following anecdotes as the reason why we are here:
“Christians, please consider that when somebody is wounded by the church, your impulse to ‘defend the church’ needs to be last priority. The priority is tending to the wounded people. The people ARE the church…”
Reacting to the above somebody said,The church does not wound people. Rather people hide themselves behind the church, wound others and push their evil acts on the church. God’s church is ever pure and void of evil.”
The other quote reads, “It didn’t start with gas chambers. It started with one party controlling the media. One party controlling the message. One part deciding what is truth. One party dividing citizens ‘us’ and ‘them’ and calling on their supporters to harrass them.“It started when good people turned a blind eye and let it happen.”
Yes, it happened because nobody had the courage to say,“No or Never Again!”
It happened because of “selfish ambition or vain conceit.” It happened because out of pride we did not “consider others better than ourselves.” It happened because we looked only to our own interests and not to the interests of others!
When Christians are united in Christ, when we find any comfort from his love and if we have fellowship with the Spirit and if we have found any compassion and tenderness from him, we should be like-minded.
We should have the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. In fact,“our attitudes should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” We may not have the capabilities of Christ’s perfection, but we can learn to be humble and deal with each other in love.
It is prudent while dealing with another to ask,“What would our Lord Jesus Christ have done concerning this matter?”
We can act in the same spirit if we are in fellowship with the Spirit. And when as individuals we pray to lose more than to receive more.
Holy Spirit empty me of anger, pride, greed, envy, jealousy, selfishness, impatience, intolerance and vengeance and let my attitude be the same as that of Christ Jesus. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
