“Do Not Be Afraid!”(Rev.1:9-18).
Life gives us every reason to be afraid. We are afraid that we may fail. We are afraid of success because success attracts many enemies. Fear! Fear! Fear everywhere!
This may explain why the phrases “Fear not” and “Do not be afraid!” features hundreds of times in the Bible!
God knows that we find it difficult to cope with our problems – which are the possible reflection of the fears we have internalised. But as his own chosen ones, we are constantly being reassured so that we do not let our fears drown our dreams! Death may claim thousands, but fear claims a lot more than that; but still, Do not be afraid!”
Full knowledge of Christ and a closer walk with him banishes all fears. Jesus Christ is the First and the Last. He is alive for ever and ever! Above all, he holds the keys of death and Hades! If you are in him and with him and if he is in you, you need not be afraid!
We are called to be witnesses by passing on the message we have received from the Lord. We should not be afraid to be in the Lord’s presence, neither should we be afraid to declare the wonders of his grace to the world, through the Churches.
We get the opportunity to hear or see God’s revelation that leads us to universal truth when we are in the Spirit; especially on the Lord’s Day. Therefore, do not despise the Lord’s day and you will be in the Spirit and you will be able to hear the message from the Lord.
Sunday prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for the assurance not to be afraid. Holy Spirit help me to be in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day. Amen!
Have a blessed Sunday! Peace be with you!
