“Do Not Be Afraid; Do Not Be Discouraged!”
Taking human life is wrong. Notwithstanding the arguments raised to support the “just war theory” war is morally wrong.
Ironically in any of their battles and wars, Israel was constantly being reminded that although they had a fully equipped army their victories was by the Lord.
Before going to war against Moab and Ammon King Jehoshaphat prayed to the Lord telling him that they depended on him for direction. “Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel and he prophesied, “…This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s…Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’…”(II Chron.20:&13-19).
We must not necessarily pray to God to give us victory in war; we do not need assurance from God that he is the one who will defeat our enemies at the war front. However we have a battle against the devil who is roaming like a roaring lion seeking to devour whoever. The devil will not stand before us in physical form, but he is there in human form, luring us to derail from the path which the Lord has charted for us.
To face the devil we need that prophetic assurance, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.”
My friend, mayvbe your life is in such a mess and you think you have approached a dead end; don’t give up! Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out and face your today and tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you!
Prayer of the week: Lord I will go out and face my today and tomorrow courageously because you are with me. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working week. Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
