“A Compssionate Touch From The Lord For Spiritual Sight!”
(Mt. 20:29-34).
This little girl was on her sickbed gradually dieing from a terminal disease. The pastor in trying to soothe her pains told her, “Daughter take heart, Jesus is the answer.” In despondence the girl asked, “But what is the question?”
There is this guy whose story many men and women can identify with. This guy was such good friends with this lady for such a long time. He was in love with the lady and in his heart he knew they would one day be joined together in holy matrimony. One day he received the shock of his life when the lady came to invite him to her traditional wedding. He told the lady that he thought they were meant for each other. The lady told him, but you never made your intentions known to me. As Cervantes said, “Faint heart never won fair maiden.”
We miss opportunities when we do not make our intentions known on time. We often expect Jesus to be an answer to questions we have not yet formulated. Jesus Christ is the solution provider, no doubt; but you must tell him your problem before he provides the solution.Jesus knows our questions, but he wants to see how deep our faith is. So he asks us, just like he asked the two blind men, “What do you want me to do for you?”
When Jesus asked them, they told him, “Lord we want our sight.” There was confidence, conviction and certainty in their response. They had faith that Jesus was able to give them what they wanted.
Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.”
My friend, in a way we are also blind and we need to shout to the Lord to have mercy on us and give us our sight and take away our guilt. But if we claim that we see, our guilt remains (Jn.9:41, read all of the ch.).
On the other hand, when you want something from the Lord, ignore the rebuke of the ignoble crowd that wants you to be silent! Shout all the louder and the loving Jesus will abandon his busy schedule to attend to you. Jesus is never too busy that he wouldn’t stop by you to ask, “What do you want me to do for you?” Tell him what you want to be done for you now and consider it done!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ in your compassion give me my spiritual sight so that I can discern kingdom grace clearly! Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
