“All Things Are Possible With God!”
Scriptures admonishes us to live lives that are acceptable to the Lord. Yet the fact remains: Every attempt to enter the kingdom of God on the basis of human achievement or merit is futile(Mk.10:17-27).
We are saved by grace and nothing else. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast “(Eph.2:8-9). Yes, “He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy”(Ti.3:5).
Despite this and the fact that we have maintained a right relationship with fellow brethren, there may still be some things we consider precious which we cling on to. Jesus tells us to consider them as nothing. Sell them, give the money to the poor, then follow him, Jesus Christ.
This is to say on our scale of preference the things of God should be top priority; not as an emergency event, but as a continuous process! By the way, if you are fully convinced that what you have is a blessing from God, you shouldn’t hesitate to do with it as he has ordered. He has plans for you just as he had for Job.
This may amaze us and we may like the disciples of old be asking, “Who then can be saved?” Probably no one if it is by our human effort. But since it is the work of grace, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
My friend, do not allow your possessions to hinder your journey of faith. When you are carrying a heavy load, your speed reduces, but when the load is lighter you can go faster. In the same way, the more you share what you have with others, the lighter your burden and the freer you become; thus you become more available at the feet of the Lord of salvation.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ thank you for blessing me abundantly. Direct me on how to use them as you command. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
