“Be Humble In Service And Be Loyal To The Lord!”
Jesus had just taught the disciples a great lesson in humility by washing their feet. But before they start thinking too highly of themselves because he washed their feet, he cautioned them: “I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”
Knowing these things mean nothing if we do not do them.
This is a great lesson in humility. Jesus expects us to serve him with such humility.
Jesus also told them, “I tell you the truth, one of you is going to betray me”(Jn.13:16-30). Be careful with the people who surround you whom you call friends!
Of course, our people say “one bad cocoyam can spoil the whole pot of cocoyams.” The loyal ones are always there, but the betrayer is always there in their midst. That is why Jesus said, “I am not referring to all of you; I know those I have chosen…”(Jn.13: 16-30).
My friend in this life and especially in service, learn to be humble. Also be mindful of those who surround you. Above all be loyal to those who make you part of their circles; do not betray their trust!
Prayer: Holy Spirit help me to be humble in service and loyal to the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
