“The Lord Needs Your Services!”
The Lord appeared in a vision to Ananias in Damascus and asked him to go and heal Saul. Ananias wondered how such a mission was possible to a man who was making prisoners of anybody who called on the name of the Lord.
The Lord told Ananias, “This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name”(Acts 9:10-22).
The response of Ananias is a reflection of how we humans judge others based on their past and fail to see the new things God wants to do through them.
Some lessons learned:
1. Learn to overlook the pain inflicted on you by your enemy. Take him, transform him and use him to your advantage; just like Jesus did with Saul.
2. The Lord is not calling you to a life of comfort. He said of Saul, “I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
3. There is no doubt that you have been born again and that Christ has redeemed you already. But you see, new engines remain highly performant when the oil is changed regularly, when enough water is put in the radiator and the car is taken to the garage for routine servicing. In the same way we become spiritually blinded when we do not change the oils of our lives and service them regularly.
Ny friend, God has overlooked all your past weaknesses. Just be alert to your vision and he will send an Ananias to place his hands on you to service you so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
God wants you to transform you from a talebearer to a herald; such that those who hear you will be astonished and ask, Isn’t he the one who raised havoc among those who called on this name Jesus Christ?
Forget about your past and allow God to have his way with you now!
Weekend prayer: Thank you Lord for finding me worthy of your service. Guide me to submit to your will. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
