“Do Not Lose Heart!”
Some fifteen years ago a friend said to me, “Ba Rev, you seemed to have mastered the universe. What is your secret?” I replied like a typical African, “How do you mean?” But then I told him that in the midst of other options I made a conscious choice of following the Lord Jesus Christ. From then on the Christ in me keeps expanding as all others fade into oblivion.
About a month ago somebody asked me a similar question. I simply told the person that I’ve learned so much from our Sr. brother apostle Paul.
Our type know that we are jars of clay carrying this priceless treasure “to show that this all surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
The surrounding mitigating circumstances may cause us to waste outwardly, “yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” Nothing troubles us “because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus… “Therefore we do not lose heart.”
You see my dear friend, life’s challenges may give you all the reasons for sorrow and frustration, but if it must be, let it end outwardly. Let there be in you a daily inward renewal to show that you are an earthen vessel carrying treasure of immeasurable worth! It is God who has made his light to shine in our hearts so that “we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord…” (II Cor. 4:1&9-16).Whatever it is or may be, we do not lose heart because the resurrected Lord will come again to take us; so that wherever he is we too may be there with him.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ thank you that through you I am being inwardly renewed day by day. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
