“Let The Light Of Christ Shine On You!”
As the week rounds up we remind ourselves that our week’s reflections centred on Christians being the difference; being the light in a world marred by darkness and delighting in works of darkness. That is why Paul advises, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible for it is light that makes everything visible.”
Darkness is a metaphor for evil and sin! Some things are done in broad daylight but they are works of darkness. Some things are done in the day and in secret but they are the works of darkness!
As a Christian have nothing to do with the dark deeds all around. But as it stands it doesn’t mean that being Christian means we have become automated lights. That is what should be, but are we?
Yes we are or we ought to be! But sometimes we stumble and fall. So we are reminded, “Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you” (Eph.5:8-14).
Dear friend, the deeds of darkness are fruitless. Why would you waste your labour in a venture that will not bear fruit?
Christ has brought you to the light. Live as a child of light and bear the fruit of the light: goodness, righteousness and truth; and finding out what pleases the Lord and doing it.
Weekend prayer: Lord Jesus Christ keep me in your light and let me bear fruit of the light: goodness, righteousness and truth. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
