“Holy Spirit Prepare Me For The Day Of The Lord!”
“…I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions…”
This prophecy of Joel was fulfilled on Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came down on the apostles and by extension to all of us. However like any free gift, “terms and conditions apply.” The descent of God’s Spirit precedes “the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.”
When that dreadful day comes people won’t be saved because the Spirit was poured on them. Rather, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved…”(Jl.2:28-32).
Through Jesus Christ the Holy Spirit has been made available to us all, but that is no guarantee for salvation. Dreams and prophecies are not the highlights here. What is essential is having a walk with Jesus according to how the Holy Spirit leads because the day of the Lord will be a dreadful day for those who are perishing.
Our daily work with Jesus Christ in continuing his works on earth is the greatest benefit of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit for which each believer should crave for.
Prayer: Holy Spirit inspire me to call on the name of the Lord and continue his mission here on earth. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
