“Ask From God What Is According To His Will!”
God told king Solomon in a dream, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” Solomon responded, “…O Lord my God…give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong…”
Solomon’s request pleased the Lord. God knew that others would have asked for long life or wealth for themselves. They would even have asked for the death of their enemies. Since Solomon asked for discernment in administering justice God gave him more than he asked for. He gave Solomon a wise and discerning heart which no-one before Solomon ever had and no-one after him could have. God also gave him riches and honour (I Kgs 3:5-15).
This is a typical example which demonstrates that God responds to our requests only “if we ask anything according to his will.” On our part “if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him” (I Jn.5:14-15).
My friend ask God for a discerning heart and he will give you much more than you bargained for. A discerning heart will also help you to know that God answers all your prayers. And that when his answer is negative it means you asked for something that is not according to his will.
To ask anything from God according to his will is first and foremost to strive to live according to his will. Then just like a biological son will do, approach your heavenly Father with confidence, ask for anything that is in his will, then be rest assured that your request is granted. Just be patient as your request is being processed.
Prayer: Holy Spirit lead me to live by the will of God the Father and to ask from him only that which is according to his will, through Jesus Christ. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
