“You Have Been Ransomed By The Lord!”
Like many others I am caught up in a “locked down!” Against my wish I can’t go back to my own town. Thousands have fled the villages and are being housed by relatives in overcrowded conditions. Thousands are beginning to get comfortable in the bushes, meanwhile towns and villages are in desolation.
While we may be tempted to cry out, “Lord, why?”; we are reminded that in other generations and in other lands people suffered the same fate.
The comforting words of God through Isaiah speak in our situation as it spoke to the estranged children of God thousands of years ago. We do not have to fear mortal men who are but grass. We shouldn’t “live in constant terror everyday because of the wrath of the oppressor, who is bent on destruction.”
We must live in hope for we have the assurance that “the ransomed of the Lord will return…with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow will flee away…The cowering prisoners will soon be set free; they will not die in their dungeon, nor will they lack bread…”
To crown it all God says, “I have put my words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of my hand..”(51:9-16).
My friend, it may seemingly look worst now than then, but it’s going to get better! Do not despair! Cheer up because “the ransomed of the Lord will return!”
Look up to your Redeemer, be strong and remain focused!
Prayer: Thank you Lord for assuring us that we will return with songs of joy and with crowns on our heads.
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
