“Lord Make Me A Living Sacrifice, Holy And Pleasing To You!”
Sometimes we go through life carelessly and even conclude that life has no meaning. But that’s not true! God has a “good, pleasing and perfect will” for each person. To know it, live it and appreciate it one has to offer oneself as a “living sacrifice, holy and pleasing” to him as a “spiritual act of worship.”
Paul wrote to the Corinthians that anyone who is in Christ has become a new creation where the old is gone and the new has come. In Romans he writes that this is possible when one no longer conforms to the pattern of this world. Rather “be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
This is possible when you eschew pride which is one of the seven deadly sins. Therefore, “do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you”(Rom.12:1-3).
My friend, you are important, but don’t overate yourself! Do not blow your own trumpet! Allow others to be the ones to recognise your worth and appreciate it! In simple terms, faith must make you humble because you are what you are not by merit but through the simple grace of God!
Prayer: Lord teach me to be humble and not think highly of myself than I ought. Amen!
