“Lord, I Believe That You Are The Christ…!”
I usually have long write-up, but I’m aware of KISS which is either “keep it short and simple” or “keep it simple, stupid.” Some modern man may be remembered to have introduced “kiss” as in above, but John the gospel writer seems to have been familiar with “kiss” in his day.
Of course, everybody appreciates it that “brevity is the soul of wit.” You cannot say everything in one speech or write everything in one book.
John concludes his gospel with the words, “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written”(21:25). In other words John is saying that there exist a huge bulk of unwritten gospels.
Earlier on John gave the reason why what is written was written: “Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name”(20:30-31).
In his time John wrote challenging the convictions of Gnostics and Greek philosophy. Today the challenge stands against cultism, “odeshiism and unharnessed intellectualism!” “Jesus is Lord” should not be a lip service confession; it should be a firm statement of faith!
The miraculous signs of Jesus that have been written down is to make you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God! It is only in believing that you have life in his name!
Yes my friend, there is no other name or power other than the name Jesus the Christ, the Son of God! Fix your gaze on him! Put your trust in him and let him have his way with you! Read the word regularly and ask the Holy Spirit to give you discernment!
Prayer: Lord I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God. Holy Spirit renew my spirit so that I may have life in Jesus’ name! Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
