“Go Out In The Strength Of The Lord Alone!”
I woke up with this song on my lips: “My sins were deeper than the ocean, when the Lord sanctified me. My sins were higher than the mountain…” I woke up with the song because I had slept with the words, “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having cancelled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross”(Col.2:13-15).
Somebody was asked, “All your colleagues have fled their villages, why are you still in your village?” The person replied, “The day my pastor will tell me that God no longer answers prayers, that’s the day I will leave my village.”
I said to myself, “this is a true child of God!” A repented child of God need not fear anything because anything that happens to her/him is by the will of God. The psalmist assures us that “unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain. Unless he watches over the city, those who stand guard labour in vain…”
Last evening somebody sent me a clip of a former head of state and his cabinet being transported in buses to jail (I’ve not yet verified). On the other hand, I saw a clip of President Magufuli going from pew to pew with an offering bowl receiving offerings during a church service. We have seen him play the drums in public in a typical “Magulification” style! There is just one driving force behind such a person: “God has made him alive in Christ!” He does not need motorcades and chain armour. He mingles freely with his people because he is convinced that “God has disarmed the powers and authorities, God has made a public spectacle of them, and triumphed over them by the cross!”
As a child of God throw your fears to the wind! God has not however said there will be no storms of life, rather his Son has assured us, “…surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age!”
The laws, taboos and restrictions which enforced the powers and authorities have been disarmed! Go out in the strength of the Lord alone!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ thank you for liberating me by disarming the powers and authorities; triumphing over them by the cross. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
