“As You Journey In 2019 Take Note: We Are All Important!”
We are thankful to God that despite the trying times we are alive and able to be part of a new year.
The story is told that the chameleon challenged the dog to a race. This was because the dog was always insulting the chameleon for being a slow creature.
When the chameleon threw the challenge, the dog laughed and accepted the challenge. It was agreed that upon arrival the winner would sit on a cushion chair that was placed at the winning point.

The umpire gave the signal for the race to begin. The dog took off with the speed of light. As it arrived the winning point and just as it was about settling comfortably on the chair, the chameleon asked, “Do you want to sit on me because I am small?”
We have arrived a point in our history where we have to appreciate our differences and work for a collective good.

King David did not see the reason why God created the spider. But one time when he was fleeing from Saul, he hid himself in a cave. While he was inside, a spider came and made its web on the mouth of the cave.
When Saul and his soldiers came around there some said they should enter and search the cave, others argued that the web on the mouth of the cave showed that nobody had entered inside. David’s life was spared and from that day he understood the importance of a spider.

Paul likens our belongingness to the various parts of the body which whether small, little, big or fat play complementary roles to keep each other.
The dog may have boasted of its size and its swiftness, but it lacked the wisdom of the chameleon.
The dog ran the race for the chameleon. As soon as the umpire said, “ready, steady, go…”, the chameleon jumped unnoticed and settled on the big tail of the dog.
Don’t undermine anybody for any reason. Dessiderata says even the fool, they too have their own stories to tell.

It is not always the way it looks. Whoever underestimates the strength of the ants may soon lament the death of all chickens in the poultry.
God has blessed us with different gifts and talents intended for the general good.
A new year is an opportunity to evaluate and appreciate that whatever we achieved last year was thanks to the efforts of others. Such evaluation provides insights for us to chart new avenues by which to consolidate our efforts. We do not take stock so as to sing our praises and derrogate others.

One way or the other we have all experienced the challenges of the crisis. We are all affected one way or the other. We owe a duty to posterity to do our work with the fear of God so that God continue to use those he wants to use in different ways for his own glory and to the service of his people.
We are children in our father’s house. No child is more the father’s child than the other. We are all important. We wish you a prosperous and fulfilling 2019! Rest assured that no matter the travails of this present moment, it is but birth pains. When the baby is born the joy overrides the birth pangs! There will be joy in the morning.
God bless you all.
