“All Hope Is Not Yet Lost If You Repent!”
Any one of us would feel hurt it anybody to whom you have done so much favour gets hurt for one wrong you have done to him or her. The fact that you are a good person does not mean you shouldn’t be rebuked or criticized for doing a wrong thing.
By the way, God says “when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil…the righteous things he did will not be remembered…”(Ez. 3:20).
The Ephesian church was praised for hard work, perseverance, their intolerance of wicked men and their endurance of hardship for the sake of Christ. They hated heretical teaching and they tested those who claimed to be apostles, but were indeed false.
But…! They had forgotten their first love!
Today’s church is more or less like the Ephesian church. The church may ceremonially continue her good works and doctrinal soundness, meanwhile she has digressed to a legalistic performance of religiosity that is void of love. When the church thus digresses to cold formalism, the evidence is hypocrisy of adherents. Christians become experts at vices surpassing the secular society. The outcome is the loss of her moral voice; because when she speaks, the public mock: “See who is speaking!”
The voice that comes from heaven cries out to us as individuals who constitute the church: “Repent and do the things you did at first.” In other words, this is a call for a great revival that takes us to the faithfulness we once practiced when we first believed!
The call to repentance is accompanied by an ultimantum: “If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place…”
As it is, the word of God is all about Good News! There is hope of a brighter tomorrow! If you hear these words and overcome, then “I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is the paradise of God”(Rev. 2:1-7).
Yes my friend, through repentance, there is hope to eat from the tree of life in the paradise of God!
The tree of life is always there in the paradise of God. When Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge, God expelled them from the garden saying, “The man…must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat and live for ever”(Gen. 3:21-24).
Today the Lord beckons, “Return (repent) and the fruits will now be available to you!” What an offer! Do not delay to be a part of the celebration!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
