“Lord, Look On Us With Pity!”
Nobody can claim victory for destroying a child of God, because, “unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain…”(Ps.127:1). It is in the same way that unless the Lord demolishes the house, the demolishers labour in vain!
The deserted towns and villages, the displacements of hundreds of thousands of our people, the killings of thousands of our people is not victory for the enemy! It is the fulfilment of God’s plan for the chastisement of a people who have abandoned the his true worship while clinging to ritualistic religion!
It is so bad that “the Lord has rejected his alter and abandoned his sanctuary. He has given the walls of her palaces into the hands of the enemy; they have raised a shout in the house of the Lord… Her king and princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the Lord…”(Lam.2:1-12).
How can we find visions from the Lord when God’s anger against us is still seething?
Dear friend, whatever trials, upheavals, pain and suffering we are passing through is never a victory to the enemy; it is God meting out his punishment on us for foresaking true worship.
Yet we know that God’s anger is only for a moment because his steadfast love endures forever!
Let us return to the Lord, and “though our sins be like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow…”(Is.1:18). The Lord Jesus Christ whose blood purifies us from all unrighteousness says he will not cast out anyone who comes to him. What a great invitation not to be ignored!
Prayer: Lord, do not let our enemies triumph over us. We have gone against your will and here we are in true penitence asking for your forgiveness. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
