“You Are Blessed By The Holy Trinity!”
The text for reflection today is one that most people are familiar with and use it quite so often. It is the last verse of the concluding chapter of Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians. “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”
This verse demonstrates vividly the interaction of the three persons of the Holy Trinity. Jesus offers grace which is undeserved favour. This grace is the result of the Father’s immeasurable and unbounded love. It comes to us through the fellowship which the Holy Spirit has with us. In this fellowship the Holy Spirit is our link to the other persons of the Godhead.
To gain this Paul reminds us still in this concluding chapter: “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realise that Christ Jesus is in you – unless of course you fail the test…”(13:5ff).
Dear friend, to be in the faith requires introspection; a search of the innerbeing. It is not about what people see and admire or detest about you, it is about what you look inward and see within and which cannot be hidden from God.
The Holy Spirit is there to enable you and I to be bonded in earthly fellowship as well as heavenly union with God! Let us therefore be one another’s keeper so as to enjoy that fellowship!
Prayer: Holy Spirit enable me to do an introspection to see if I’m in the faith. Strengthen me in the innerbeing so that I should radiate the grace and love from above as we share in community fellowship. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
