“God Will Rescue You From The Fowler’s Snare (Ps.124:7-8)!”
The Nigerian gospel singer says you’ll jump and pass over any pit that the enemy dug for you. It is not only that; it has been said that when you are digging a pit for somebody do not make it too deep because you may be the one to be put inside. It’s a law of nature that what goes around comes around.
Plan no evil against anybody, do not be part of any plot for anybody’s downfall. Rather maintain your faith, have trust and absolute reliance on God and he will fight your battles. In the presence of their enemies God still prepares a table for those who trust in him.
The decree not to worship any other God did not deter Daniel or obstruct his devotion and trust in the Lord. His enemies got what they wanted. They saw Daniel praying and they took the evidence to the king. Knowing that the king had a soft spot for Daniel, they reminded him that the law could not be repealed.
As it is, it is God who drives away flies from the cow without tail. The King gave the order for Daniel to be thrown into the lion’s den with a heavy heart. He prayed for Daniel: “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!” He even went without food and spent a sleepless night because he knew he had condemned an innocent person due to the manipulations of haters!
Bottom line, Daniel was protected by his God. The hungry lions did not harm him(Dan.6:11-19). His faith saved him from both man and ferocious lions!
My friend, hold on to your faith, maintain truth and look up to Christ who stands on the side of justice; he will vindicate you!
Stand firm in the Lord! It shall come to pass because nothing lasts forever!
Prayer: Lord shield me from the throes of the evil that encompass me in Jesus’ name! Amen!
