“Lord, Let Your Justice Become The Light Of Our Nation!”
One day posterity would posthumously rightfully condemn us for having destroyed what we died fighting to protect! At the end of it all, the question would be asked, “Was it worth it at all?”
It may have been worth it, but the modus operandi was certainly wrong! “Righteousness exalts a nation” but when structural sin adds up on individual sins, only Divine intervention can be the solution.
Today God promises us three things that will change the tides in our nation. He says, “…my justice will become a light to the nations. My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way…”
But again, when we get it wrong, then we may do it wrong! What do we mean by Divine intervention? God acts through human structures and agencies. He also does not use us on the basis of what we are; he alone can make us what we ought to become.
On the basis of that, he does not only call us to preach justice but to be a pebble of justice that causes a rippling effect in a lake. He calls us to be his righteousness in this pilgrim’s progress! He calls us to be his witnesses! Just imagine that justice becomes the light of this nation! See how peace, love and righteousness would abound!
God says heaven may vanish like smoke and earth may wear out like a garment, “but my salvation will last for ever, my righteousness will never fail”(Is. 51:4-6).
Prayer: Lord we have sinned and fallen short of your glory. Thank you for saving us with the blood of your Son. Forgive us and rescue our country from this bloodbath and chaos. In Jesus’ name we pray! Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
