“Walk Before The Lord With Integrity Of Heart…!”
Some of the trees whose fruits we enjoy today were planted by our fathers and forefathers. In the same way the fruit of trees we plant today will be enjoyed by our progeny.
Therefore, there is a sense in which we enjoy the blessings of our ancestors as much as we can suffer for the evil they perpetuated. It is here that some people lay emphasis on generational curses.
When king Solomon finished constructing the temple of the Lord and the royal palace, he prayed and Lord appeared to him and consecrated the temple saying, *”I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple…by putting my name there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there. As for you, if you walk before me with integrity of heart and uprightness as David your father did, and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws, I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever…
But if you or your sons turn away from me…I will cut off Israel from the land… *Israel will then become a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples…”* It will be said that the Lord has brought dissaster upon Israel “because they have forsaken their God… and have embraced other gods, worshipping and serving them…” (I Kgs 9:1-9).
God consecrates any magnificent church that we construct for his worship and as long as we are serving him in obedience, he remains there with us. But the moment we shift our focus from his worship and obedience to him and concentrate on this other worldliness, he cuts us off. We become a byword and an object of ridicule.
In the same way, as individuals we are the temples of the Lord. When we walk in integrity of heart and uprightness, he dwells within us. But when we cloth ourselves in sin, he cuts us off and we become a byword and objects of ridicule.
Therefore, let us walk before God with integrity of heart and uprightness, obeying his commands and observing his decrees and laws. And he will remain with us and our generations after us.
Prayer of the week: Holy Spirit guide me that I may walk before the Lord with integrity of heart and uprightness in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working week and have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
