“Wait For The Second Appearance Of Christ!”(Heb.9:23-28).
Every admirable architectural structure is a mere copy of the original. Every artistic piece, be it music or literature is a mere copy of the original. The original exists in the mind of the conceiver – the architect or the artist.
It is in the same way that whatever exist here on earth are copies of the heavenly originals. Copies lack originality. This may explain why there is often the request for a “certified true copy.” A certified true copy assumes that the certifier had a physical view of the original.
Jesus Christ is our original of animal sacrifices and high priestly functions whose Holy of Holies is heaven where purification is not needed.
What the priests and animal sacrifices could not achieve in the dispensation of photocopies, Christ “appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”
Worthy to note: We should now be concerned with the second coming. The first time he came he bore our sins away.
In his second coming he will “bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”
Bringing salvation in the second coming is bringing assurance that our sins have been atoned for. But this is for “those who are waiting for him.”
Point to ponder upon: “Am I waiting for him?”
When we wait on the LORD he will renew our strength. He will cause us to soar on wings like eagles. He will ensure that we run and not grow weary and we will walk and not grow faint (Is,40:31) in his service until he comes.
Prayer: Holy Spirit help us to wait for the second appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ through our words and deeds. Amen!
