“PUSH!”(Acts4:23-31)
The acronym PUSH stands for “Pray Until Something Happens.” We cannot underestimate the power of prayer. Prayer is our means of communication with God.
When Peter and John were released they went and joined the rest of the brethren and repoeted what had happened to them. All of them went into serious prayer. “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. It couldn’t have been otherwise because in their prayer among other things they made this request: “Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
Mary Ann Pepper writes:
“Ere you left your room this morning,
Did you think to pray?
In the name of Christ, our Savior,
Did you sue for loving favor
As a shield today?
[Chorus]
Oh, how praying rests the weary!
Prayer will change the night to day.
So, when life gets dark and dreary,
Don’t forget to pray.

  1. When your heart was filled with anger,
    Did you think to pray?
Did you plead for grace, my brother,
    That you might forgive another
    Who had crossed your way?
  2. When sore trials came upon you,
    Did you think to pray?
When your soul was full of sorrow,
Balm of Gilead did you borrow
    At the gates of day?”
In our day we too must pray so that the Holy Spirit should fill us and give us the boldness to speak truth to power!
Prayer: Holy Spirit empower us so that we can speak the word of God with boldness. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
