“Plan With God!”
We always have plans for one thing or the other. Plans to do this or plans to do that. Unfortunately some of the best plans are castles in the air. Building catles in the air is like leaving in a dreamworld. We all have dreams, but they remain dreams until they are implemented.
It has been said, “failing to plan is planning to fail.” Given that the original of any plan is in the heart, how do we make them become realities? The answer we receive from Holy. Scriptures is that “To man belongs the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the reply of the tongue.” So to say, no matter how lofty the plan may be, it is only God who must give the ability to articulate and accomplish the plan.
That is why in all their plans, believers must plan with God. To plan with God is not asking God to support your dreams, but rather that your dreams should come from the Lord. For your dreams to come from the Lord you must have a closer walk with him.
Sometimes we boast of the dreams we have fulfilled and by this we are thinking of our achievements and successes. These may not be in tandem with the Lord’s plans. While we innocently think that we have made it, God is weighing the motives. “A man’s ways may seem right to him, but the Lord weighs the heart”(Prv.21:2).
To this end we should always like the psalmist tell God, “search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts”(139:23).
It is important to “commit to the Lord whatever you do and your plans will succeed,” since “the Lord works everything for his own ends…” The man who fears God will enjoy a little with righteousness and not go for much gain with injustice(Prov.16:1-9).
It is good to be trustworthy with the little you have for that is proof that you will be honest when much is entrusted to you (Lk. 16:10-13). “…Godliness with contentment is great gain.” We broght nothing into the world and we will take nothing out of it. There is no need stressing ourselves and fighting each other over what in truth is never ours; and will never be ours! The three basic human needs of food, shelter and clothing are enough. The rest that we clamour after are ostentatious.
Therefore children of God, “flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called…”(I Tim. 6:6-12).
Sunday prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, draw me closer so that I should walk and work in your plan and not for self-glorification. Amen!
Have a blessed Sunday! Peace be with you!
