“In Defense Of Truth!”(Jn.5:31-40)[19/12/2024].
“I can’t believe this!”Don’t tell me this is true!”You don’t mean it!” Etc. These are some expressions commonly used to subtly express doubt.
There is so much mistrust and doubt. Everything, therefore, depends on witnesses, as if witnesses do not lie.
A few days to Christmas, we read Jesus bearing his own testimony of who he is, just because the Jewish authorities continued to doubt his messiahship.
Among the many testimonies, there is only one human testimony; the testimony of John the Baptist.
John’s testimony is the lightest of the testimonies. Weightier testimonies than John include the following:

  1. The miracles of Jesus testified to who he was and to his divine mission.
  2. God himself testifies to who Jesus is in the Scriptures as in the voice after Jesus’ baptism and during the transfiguration.
  3. The Scriptures point to who Jesus is. But despite the diligence of the studying of the Scriptures, the Jewish leaders failed to recognise him.
Whenever we fail to recognise these testimonies, we would like the Jews refuse to come to Jesus to have life.
Do you believe this? If not, why not?
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, help my unbelief whenever doubts set in. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
