“Do Not Compromise The Truth!”(Gal.4:12-20).
Prophet Amos lamented over the pitiable sinful condition of Israel saying, “you hate the one who reproves in court and despise him who tells the truth”(5:10).
In the same spirit Paul showed concern for the Galatians asking with a pained spirit,“Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?” The commonest way to reduce your circle of friends – no matter how wide that circle may be – is to hold on to a truth that people don’t want to hear!
The Galatians who once welcomed Paul as if he was an angel of God, as if he was Christ Jesus himself, suddenly turned against him. Paul could not undetstand what suddenly happend to ther joy!
There were these Judaizers who were zealous to win over the Galatians, “but for no good.” Their purpose was not good. All was that they should turn the Galatians against Paul and win the people over to themselves.
It is easy to succeed in turning people against someone for voicing the truth, but one truth that remains true is that “The Truth Shall Prevail!”
Standing for the truth is standing for the gospel of truth. We must hold on to the gospel of Christ, which is the truth. Let us remain in pain as in child birth “until Christ is formed in” the people who are being misled away from the Way!
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit help me not to compromise the truth nor to be led astray by zealous predators. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
